Will You “Go Red” This Friday, February 7th?

This Friday, February 7, 2014 marks the 11th anniversary of National Wear Red Day, an event that helps spread awareness of women’s heart health.  Were you aware that heart disease claims the lives of over 500,000 women each year?

Now-a-days, we hear the word “cancer” around every corner.  We hear in the media how cancer is impacting people every day.  We learn about so many different cancer research studies that are happening around the globe.  But, what about heart disease?
Here’s a reality check:  Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women, above cancer?  And yet, advocacy against heart disease in women is not as common as it should be.  National Wear Red Day is a day to do just that.  A national day where women (and men) unite as one to spread awareness of heart disease as being the #1 killer.
So, ladies and gentlemen, will you GO RED this February 7th, for the lovely women in your life?
